Je kunt vrijwel raden naar het verhaal, Hometown Boy Prince gevangen genomen door Franse slavenhandelaren. Ze verwerpen zijn Afrikaanse naam en besluiten hem \u2018Richard Le Noir\u2019 te noemen, wat \u2018Black Richard\u2019 betekent. Hij wordt overboord gegooid door de slavenhandelaren in de buurt van een onbekend Caribisch eiland, waar hij op miraculeuze wijze aan land zwemt om onmiddellijk gevangen te worden genomen en een slaaf wordt die in de Cane-velden werkt.<\/p>\n

Na jaren van arbeid leert hij het geheim om van suikerriet de beste rum van de Cara\u00efben te maken. Omdat hij zo'n eerlijke, hardwerkende man was, kreeg hij zijn vrijheid in de vroege jaren 1700. Natuurlijk werd hij onmiddellijk een onstuimige piraat die ongelooflijk paars fluweel droeg, vier pistolen droeg en bekend werd als Big Black Dick, the Pirate. In tegenstelling tot de meeste andere piraten, leidt hij een lang en stevig piratenleven, en daarna trekt hij zich terug in een goed leven en maakt hij zijn beroemde Pirate Rum.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
